I am shocked theres no Steffie, the designers favorite! Theres lara though, but at least shes different than the previous ones. I cant say the same for Lea, but I love her still! Happy that Mbili is rocking a darker shade finally!! I really love them all (love lea and goddess more of course lol)
I was hoping to see the Desiree face mold and others that have been used once ...if this is the last of the Basics line, it should go out in a bang!

Its been a while since I've got something brand new. Picked up this cute dress at Target and also a Nikki doll on clearance. I already have her but I love the dress and the shoes!

I cant believe the price for a single fashion, it used to be $1.99 now its around $3 ++. It should include shoes because the $5 + pack includes that and some useless junk we collectors throw out (purse,phone,sunglasses) The price increase does not make sense. Ok~ rant over

Glam dress set, I'm starting to take a liking to shiny/glitter outfits! I used to hate glitter!

AND Basics accessory packs! Now my MM girls have a nice array of shoes! Finding some shoes that fit are a challenge for me

Heres something I find interesting. Niki has different makeup than her blonde counterpart. Usually they are the same. Niki is rocking gold and silver eyeshadow LOL There is no gold on her outfit though.

For some reason I wasn't excited much for the 2.0 line, even though I do think the models are better looking than the 1st. Maybe I need a barbie break? A little upset that there isn't a dark AA and once again another Mbili! This head mold is everywhere now!

I was at Target looking for the new ponies... not a thing! So went on to the barbie side and saw nothing that I wanted (yet) then noticed the sale tag by the Basics.
Whats left were 3 leas and 1 Teresa! They all have messed up eyes! What is going on with QC that even collector dolls have the same issues as playline! The last lea I picked up is perfect! I didn't expect to own one so soon so it was meant to be!

Lea seems to always have the new body. Her straight legs are very cool and she can do splits, wish all the MM can also.

Love the shoes!

I finally found the new Fashionistas kens while doing one last holiday shopping! I picked the ones with the best hair.
The body is great and I have only one complaint! Why cant the legs move to the sides like Barbies? It does make dressing a bit easier. Always a step backwards with Mattel, I swear!

The new heads are cool and makes rerooting easier ;-)

I finally broke down and bought the beach outfit just for the orange shirt.

Artsy Prototype

Got her off ebay real cheap to use as a body donor. I was upset when I noticed her necklace was glued on, then discovered more things that made me believe shes a prototype! The auction description wasn't in detailed at all.

Her eyes and lips are hand painted. I can see the sealant and faint paint strokes. Her clothes are a better quality and nicely done up! The boots, purse and belt are all painted rather than brown plastic with pink paint. The necklace is glued on and her legs are thicker!

A long time ago, Ms. Leo of I-Luv-Dolls inquired about Mari. At the time I only have a head that my friend gave me. She was kinda hard to get, well for me at least.

Walmart online exclusive for $5. The dolls are worth just that - I wouldn't pay more!
They are made in Indonesia and from experience all dolls made there have glue inside their heads. This makes the hair sticky!
The doll legs are plastic and dont bend at the knee.

Some interesting differences : Barbie has model muse arms while Niki has the standard arms. Barbie legs are ball jointed Niki are elastic tied, she can do splits.

I went to FAO Schwarz hoping to get a Lea with exclusives outfits, but they didnt have any!! But shes in cartoon form on the posters and in the 'runway' I guess the dolls on there are generic. I was so disappointed that I didnt care to take more pics, sorry guys!! The best and cheaper way to get this Lea is by MY DESIGN at the mattel site.

Hi, I need sum advice. I am a barbie doll fan, and I want 2 do reroots, and repaints. Also design clothing for the dolls. I try 2 do a reroot earlier this year using human hair weave, but I don't think I had the right tools 2 complete the job, so my 1st attempt got scrapped. Now I am ready 2 try again, but I don't kno where to start this time around. What should I do?

Dear Leandra,

I use the knot method, which I think its the easiest and secure way to re-root! Hair weave is good to practice with since its cheap and can come with a lot of hair.
I use a 5" needle to root my plugs, got mime at Joann, but they are found at any craft stores and sites that sells doll hair.

Finally a new Lea to buy! Unfortunately you have to order her and she cost $34.99(shipping and tax not included) I dont order many dolls, Im very picky with face paint and wonky eyes is a big problem in play line

In this Barbie styled by Me bundle , you pick 1 out of 5 dolls. 2 are blonde barbie (*gasp* thats a real shocker!) Artsy, Summer/Teresa and the gem of the lot, LEA! 3 set of clothes, some do not include shoes. The set is not really worth it, you can buy the clothes cheaper elsewhere unless your dying for a custom tee with your name on it. Lucky for me I got mine as a gift :)
Shame the dolls dont have the fashionista body.

The barbie with bangs look alot like Fashionistas Wild. It made no sense to add Artsy here, she would sell better if she actually look different from the one you can buy at the store!

hello readers,
i just finished my first re-root, yippee!!! actually it was horrible. the re-root took me about 8 months to finish. i never had the time to sit and just do it. the worst part of re-rooting to me is parting the strands and knotting them at the ends. that takes up all the time and makes up most of my frustrations. i always seemed to mess up my hair hank into a frizz ball. i also most times never knotted the strands tightly so they came loose. im telling you i almost went mad,lol. then all those hundreds of holes just never seemed to get plugged. it felt like each day that i actually did 20 plugs looked like i only did 5. those holes multiplied i tell ya. i wanted to appreciate how hard it is to do a re-root and now i fully do. all you re-rooters out there i commend you especially if you love doing them. if i had to charge for a re-root i would charge hundreds of dollars,lol. so i say the $50 re-rooters usually ask for is so worth it for your piece of mind. cyano you are my hero ,i love you for all the help you gave me and all the dolls you do for me. hugs,{{Stacy }}

The ballerina dolls are always around until the next ballet line comes in... Doesnt matter what season it is they are always there!

hi everyone,
well i bought a lot of heads on ebay. they really needed alot of work. there was 1 head in particular that needed lots of tlc and it was the kira head. as you can see from the before ebay pic(sorry forgot to take my own pic) she was a frizzy disaster. her kanekalon hair was matted and looked beyond repair. i washed her hair in really hot water and brushed it. then i cut her bangs off and added some plum streaks, i didn't have any black hair to add. her hair surprisingly turned out beautiful and silky. i also pierced her hand with a sewing needle to add her fabulous new ring. so if you get one of those nasty haired dolls try to fix her it will all be worth it. what can you lose. if you really don't like how your gal turns out you can always have her rerooted or partially rerooted ;)

here are superstar barbie gals i had rerooted by Cyano. he rerooted the back three. i wanted a redhead, brunette and one with brown hair. they came out perfect and im so happy. its so fun to see how a barbie looks with different hair colors :)

hi everyone,
are you not sure about getting the doll even at the $3 price ? is it because she has a big head or shes just not your type? well maybe my pics can persuade you. I'm not a big fan of the big head and blonde barbie but i must say shes kinda cute. I'm probably not going to buy another doll with this mold so shes a keeper. her dress ,shrug,shoes and jewelry are so worth the price. the box is really cool too to put with the 'now and then gal'. some collectors complain about her hard unbendable legs but basically they are just like fashionistas, just don't move at the knee. you can redress her easily this way and she will never get sticky leg syndrome. i think shes great. try one and if nothing she comes with makes you happy you can always give her away or sell her :)

Well my friend tried to shrink her my scene doll head and it turned out pretty awful. she used a head she didnt mind losing if it turned out bad. followed all the instuctions posted on many customizing websites. within 3 minutes of the head being soaked in the acetone it turned into that!!! oh the horror!! when the head was pulled out it was in 3 pieces and very soft and the parts were 2 times bigger,as if swollen. now i dont know if it is that my scene heads are too soft but beware wanna be customizers. do not try this at home ;)

If this were kanekalon hair it would look choppy! Its saran but the glue inside her head ruins it, the hair feels tacky at the top :(

Score!! I always miss out every time I go into these discount stores, only the blonde one available. I thought my only hope was Ebay. For the cost for 1 on ebay, I got 2 from Ross :)
I was only allowed to get 2 but somehow walked out with 3. I was shocked to see them considering all stores were wiped out after the holidays. There were also 2 blondes. Now I need the AA goddess face girl!
